Banff Trip Cost
A rental quote is the first number on the trip. This adds the rest: fuel, the park pass and winter extras.
The ranking

| Line | Difference |

1. Your trip
Every quote is priced over the same trip. Distances start in Calgary.
Side trips and local driving. Optional.
Type the price you expect to pay for the fuel your vehicle takes. There is no default: I found no current official pump price I could cite.
I count the days you type. A daily pass is good until 4 pm the next day, so a short stay can need fewer passes than days.
Conservation Pass, per vehicle per day. Rental vehicles are not exempt.
2. Rental quotes
Type each total as the rental offer shows it. Nothing here is fetched from any rental site.
That is the most quotes this page holds.
Winter rules
From Parks Canada. Add tires, chains or insurance as an extra line on a quote.
Where the numbers come from
Every price, distance and rule on this page has a source and a date, or you typed it. Park prices, the Kananaskis price and the distances were copied by hand from the pages below on . The fuel ratings come from a monthly job that downloads the government file, checks it, and commits the result.

This is a calculator, not financial advice. It adds up what you type and the figures above. It does not check availability, and it does not know what a rental company will charge at the counter.
Fuel ratings are test-cycle numbers from Natural Resources Canada. Real use varies with speed, weather, air conditioning and the vehicle's age, and cold weather can raise it a lot. The calculator adds no winter uplift of its own.
Not affiliated with Parks Canada, Natural Resources Canada, the Government of Alberta or any rental company. No rental company is named, ranked or linked here.
Everything runs on your device. What you type is not sent anywhere. A shared link carries your numbers after the "#", which browsers never send to a website.
