Coin Vault
A private ledger for coins and bullion. What you paid, what the metal is worth, and the gap.
Everything stays on this device. No account, no sync, no tracking.
SAMPLE data. These coins and prices are invented to show how it works.

Not financial advice. A calculator for your own records, not a valuation, and not affiliated with the Royal Canadian Mint or any dealer.
Spot prices
Type the price of one troy ounce in Canadian dollars, and the day you read it. Every figure that uses a price shows its date. No free price feed with terms that allow this was found, so prices are typed by you.
Holdings
Nothing here yet. Add a coin or bar, or look around with invented sample data first.

Backup and restore
Save a backup file
One JSON file with your holdings and spot prices. It is the only way your data leaves this device, and only when you press the button.
If you forget this passphrase, nobody can recover the file. Nobody can, including me. There is no reset.
Restore from a backup file
Erase this vault
Deletes every holding and spot price stored in this browser. Save a backup first.
Inventory sheet
A clean page of your holdings for your records. Printing from anywhere in the app prints this sheet.
How it is stored
The data lives in IndexedDB, a database built into your browser, on this device only. This site has no server that could receive it. That also means nothing is backed up for you. Clearing site data erases the vault, and Safari can clear a site you have not opened for seven days. Save a backup file now and then.
Photos are not supported in this version. You type the prices. Source and the long version: the repository.
